About Us

Tori and I met a few years ago while we were both living in Atlanta. A good friend of mine, Justus Jones, had opened a restaurant called DAS BBQ which was conveniently located between my office and my apartment. This led to several stops for a cold Shiner or two on my commute home in the evenings. While hanging out there, I noticed a cute girl that was always working there. One Friday night while they were closing the store we started talking, which turned into talking for most of the night. It didn't take long for me to recognize that there was something special about her and that I wanted to spend more time with her, a lot more!

I had come home from a long day at work, tired, and in a terrible mood. I was just happy it was Friday! When I got home, Josh was waiting with a bottle of wine, which I was definitely ready for. He then suggested that we get dressed up and go out for a date night, which was the last thing I wanted to do. I told him that I was tired and just wanted to lay around the house and go to bed early that night, but he insisted and so I finally agreed. After showering and getting ready, I came back out to the living room, and I found him sitting with rose petals and candles covering the coffee table. He told me to come sit next to him and that he had something to show me, at this point I was still kind of annoyed that I wasn’t allowed to go to bed instead. When he turned the TV on, a video collage of photos of us throughout our relationship was playing (somehow I still didn't realize what was happening). At the end of the slideshow a solid black slide came up and then the text appeared, "Will you marry me?". I turned to my right and Josh was down on one knee. Of course, I said yes and there might have been a few happy tears. After that we finally headed to the restaurant where I was surprised again because he had secretly arranged for my parents and sister to come all the way up from Atlanta and for his whole family to be there to celebrate with us. It turned out to be an amazing night!
